The change of group names midweek has proved to be a bit of a challenge for some folks to get their head around this week. Hopefully the ride report provided by Ash below, will be of some assistance in identifying the renamed groups.
Although given that it was his first time in Yellow today, you might be forgiven for thinking his ride report has heavily drawn upon the real life yellow jersey action from yesterday’s Stage 14 of the Tour de France (the one where Tadej Pogacar and Adam Yates successfully conspired together). I’ll leave you all to make you own mind up to cast who’s who in that scenario!
~ Some smart riding in our group today saw Jon Pickup and Tim Bird head up the road early, staying away to the tea stop where the move of the day came from road captain Ashton Parker.
A cheeky bacon and coffee pre-order delivered by super domestique Tim, allowed him to bridge across to the front group, simply by leaving the cafe before the peleton had even had a sandwich.
With the extra wheel, the three riders held off the marauding peleton all the way back to Billericay ~
Well hopefully that’s cleared any confusion up.
Some other good advice I recall, is to channel your inner Ted Lowe, and remember for those watching in Black and White, the Blue is next to the Yellow 😳
